Real estate does not have to be difficult. In fact, there are a lot of things you can take care of yourself when you invest in your own home. DIY home repairs serve two purposes. They are a great way to keep your home looking brand new as the years wear on and they help you when it comes time to sell. Some homeowners like to buy a home, fix it up, and then put it on the real estate market for someone else to buy. In real estate, we call it a “fix and flip”. In fact, handling some of the basic of home repairs yourself make a “fix and flip” easier.
1) Fixing the toilet lever. You will need an adjustable wrench and a replacement toilet lever kit. You will find how to fix the toilet lever or replace it with a new one in the instructions here.
2) Unclogging the toilet drain is the job that we all hate to do, but we know it needs to be done. You will need a plunger and an auger. Use the plunger first, but make sure it is the right one. Submerge the plunger in the bowl and give it 10 thrusts. The toilet should clear up by this time.

3) Fix the leaky drain in the kitchen. You will need a bucket and a replacement P-trap or washer. Find the valve attached to the pipe and shut it off. Unscrew everything and rinse out the curved pipe. The pipe will need to be either cleaned off and repaired or replaced.
